Wendy Hartman, Director
The Boise High School Orchestras, under the direction of Wendy Hartman, are proud to be a part of a successful string tradition in the Boise Public Schools Music Department. We have three orchestras at Boise High School.
The Sophomore Orchestra is for all 10th grade string players.
The Symphonic Orchestra is for all 11th and 12th grade string players.
The Chamber Orchestra is a 20-22 student select string ensemble, chosen from spring auditions. All of the Chamber Orchestra students are enrolled in the major ensembles as well (listed above). Check out our String Quartet page to find out information on hiring a string quartet for your special occasion.
We hope you will find our orchestra site to be a valuable resource, not only for the Boise High Orchestra students and parents, but others interested in our orchestra program outside the Boise community.
Benefit Concert Tickets can now be ordered through this website! Please go to the Benefit Concert Ticket order form, fill in the information, then you will be contacted by one of the Boise High Orchestra students. They will come to you for ticket delivery.
This year we are paying tribute to private teachers in the valley. We will be featuring 3 of Boise area’s private instructors: Dawn Douthit, violin; Jennifer Drake, viola; and Arturo Chavez, cello. The concert is Friday, January 27, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Boise High auditorium.
